I haven’t produced a video in some time of the house interior. Here you go for your enjoyment:

Everything in this video need to be gone in two weeks. If it doesn’t get bought or bargained for, it’s gone!

This is real life, not just a blog highlighting the ebbs and flows of a project house. So much has gone on in the last few months since my last blog entry, I don’t even know where to begin. In a nutshell, we found our dream home property, moved out of Hudson, dove headfirst into the “busy season” for our business, and then tragedy struck just a few weeks ago.

I wasn’t sure at the time if the incident at Goodwill put the nail in coffin of my dream […]

Try donating to Goodwill and having them turn their backs on company policy!  After all my hard work and research throughout multiple website and companies, I was under the impression that Goodwill had a policy that made use of 99% clothes.  Here’s what I thought was going to happen […]

Peeling paint textures and the sort

If you’re just visiting this blog for the first time or you’re not from my small town where everyone knows everybody and their dog’s name, you may not be able to tell from my mediocre iPhone photos throughout the blog, that I’m actually a professional photographer.  I’m also not a professional journalist if you can tell from that huge run on sentence.

I was really dying to get some texture into this blog and 49 Columbia is loaded with textures, toxic lead paint and all!  My previous background was just a free stock pic that had nothing to do with the property, but alas, I spent about 30 minutes walking around the interior of the house documenting the textures along the way with my 100mm macro lens on my Canon 5DmkII (I have a couple Mark III’s but didn’t want to bring them into the depths of hell)

So if you’ve stopped by here a few times in the last couple days, you might have noticed the changing background.  Thanks to my brother-in-law, Shawn, for setting up this theme and doing all the nit-picky stuff I think of.  Just like having a custom code to randomize the 40+ photos I took for the background.

Below is a gallery of the 42 high resolution versions for all the artists and creatives out there.
Free downloads, may they be put to good use!

How and why I bought a house for $5,315.00

This is the first of what will be many post along the journey of my first “income property.” Purchased on October 17th at a last minute county auction for
$5,000.  This is the story of ambition and hard work.  Lots of hard work.  In progress.

I bought my first house with my then girlfriend (now wife) in 2008.  No one had lived in it for almost a decade and it needed to be almost completely gutted and remodeled.  I caught the “bug,” the “I love to buy crappy houses and fix them up” virus. […]
